Thought the ref stopped the Doyle v Baer fight prematurely.

Wills was way past his prime here. A fight with Dempsey in '20 would have been a good fight but Jack would have prevailed by k.o. in 10-12 rounds. A truly great era!

Some neat footwork by Buddy Baer.

Wills beat Langford as early as 1914, when Sam was still at his best. Wills is an under-rated fighter, he's WAY past his best here vs Uzcudun.
And wow, that's a very short right hook counter Paulino lands to put Wills down. You don't see that punch very often.

A lot people base their impression of a Dempsey-Wills fight on this 1 minute clip of him getting put away by Uzcudun but if you look at his resume its phenomenal. He fought and beat most of the best in the sport for almost a decade (Wills)

Firpo looks good against Willard there.
great a do you think if harry wills got a shot at the title he would have won

Against Willard probably, against Dempsey, tough to say. It's difficult to judge Wills based on this fight because he was nearly 40 years old. He does seem to have some skills but he gets caught by a much younger man.

I've heard rumours of Wills' fights against Bartley Madden in 1924 and Jack Sharkey in 1926 existing on film.

I can't confirm that they exist though because I've never seem them.
