Duraflame Electric Fireplace Insert

Mom bought me this new fireplace insert to replace my old electric logs. It does a good job keeping my living room warm even with the furnace off. The flames look realistic and the logs glow from within and pulsate. You can select how bright or intense you want it to look. It is all LED so you don't have to change light bulbs. The thermostat turns off the heater when the room reaches the temperature that you want. It comes with a remote control so you don't have to get off the couch to adjust it! My cat loves to look at it and so do I. Just plug it into the wall and instant fire!

It puts out exactly what any electric space heater will put out which is 5000 BTU's max (the limit 110V home wiring can safely handle). Unless your room is small it will NOT heat it by itself but it will allow you to run the furnace less if you are doing the zone heating thing like I do. You can feel the heat blowing out when you are near the fireplace but the fan is not powerful. I used it a lot this past winter and my gas bill was lower so I'm very happy with it.

Does it have the crackling realistic sound of a fire?

@bartstarr427 No, it dosen't have a crackle sound but you can buy them seperately if you want one. Duraflame DOES make a crackling log but that one dosen't have a heater.

Thanks for the video, Im going to order some for my basement fireplace that never was finished with the gas hookup. I hope my cat loves it too lol.
