Sega Super GT Plus Attract Mode

Yet another lame cell phone vid. This time it's Sega's awesome Super GT Plus. Here's a couple of the attract mode sequences including the tech demo Sega developed to showcase their new hardware.

The red car tears through the sidestreets of the advanced course before flying through the colosseum leaving rubble in it's wake. Not clear in this poor vid is the marking on the door. It says "CPU POWER"

Gotta love Sega.

I didn't know that there was a such thing as "Sega Super GT Plus." I know this better for SCUD Race Plus, but not Super GT Plus. I didn't think they'd market this deal outside of Japan. Even for a cell phone, this is still great enough of a video. If you get a digital camera or something, I'd love to see the intro in better detail. Still worthy of five stars.

All you have to do is change the region settings on a Scud Race Plus to USA, and you will get Super GT Plus....but wow I've NEVER seen the street car on the 2nd demo loop.

Yeah, the second demo is an early tech demo for the Model 3 board. Before installing this upgrade, I had never seen that footage either. It's really cool when the colosseum collapses showing all the polygons it's comprised of. This was an unbelievably powerful board back in 1997.

I don't think it was ever marketed here. As Ashura96 said, this is the Scud Plus ROM set. Fortunately, Sega saw fit to include a USA setting so the few upgrades that made it overseas could be set to Super GT Plus.

That car in the second demo was actually a Lamborghini Diablo which SEGA was originally going to be named Supercars before Sega Super GT's development until FIA GT Championship (formerly known as BPR Global GT Series) have the right to this series

Looks like only the "plus" version displays the alternate attract mode. Someone uploaded a full attract sequence of a regular Super GT and it doesn't show it.

Scud Race was the original name for this game in Japan and Europe but got changed in the USA. There is also Scud Race Plus which adds the super beginner course and 4 more cars (i think).

What's the difference between Scud Race and Sega Super GT?
