Shirley Wong does a VO2max on a c5/c6 quadriplegic at UBC. For quadriplegics/Tetraplegics the lack of sympathetic nervous innervation limits the heart rate and blood pressure when exercising... always dizzy as a result.

  • i don't think exercises are exact with that tube.. it's like breathing threw a straw?! :P

  • It's not that much harder to breath through it -- it just measures the gases is all. They can cut your air off to do other types of tests if needed however.

  • No... this measures the max amount of O2 your body can use at max Heart rate..

  • ORTHOSTATIC HYPOTENTION consumes great amounts of my life. i do my honest best to stay in shape food, exercise, decent rest, dont drink mostly. my bp controls all and the cold freezes my bones for hours!!!!!!! i try my heart out but i have 0 control.
