@NamIsIll Uhhhh yeah you can. Lot's of players have. That's not an excuse. What I don't like is when a player wears a helmet and then puts his head down like Sandy McCarthy did. THAT'S cheap. If you're going to wear a helmet and fight keep your head up like John Kordic did..........OR take it off.

Nick was washed up at this point. He never seemed to want to fight during his time in Philly.

He outlanded still tougher/better Fotiu who is a legend in my book.

Why the Rangers traded away Fotiu-especially to the rival Flyers is a question I still ponder today.

yeah like on Dale Rolfe...Schultz was a punk and as soon as he started to lose a fight the other 4 ( or 3 ) on the ice would jump in and save his ass...BTW, Fotiu was, is and always shall be a Ranger!

I saw this game in 1987 and it was odd to see the ex-Ranger Fotiu scrap with the ex-Flyer Patterson, as though they had exchanged jerseys. You don't see it in the video but Nicky opened up a gash on Patterson's cheek. But Joe was back playing the next period.

Nicky actually had a 22 year professional career, mostly in the NHL. This was about year 20, so he was a little past his prime at that point.
