Tasting Macallan 12 Year Sherry Oak Scotch

Here is my first taste of my new scotch. I'm going to be getting more into scotch and tasting so if anyone has more recommendations of something in the sub 100 dollar range let me know. And if anyone has a bottle of the 18 year macallan that they don't want send it my way!

Oh man, I cant believe you compared it to mix of crown royal and watever. thats like comparing starbuck and snooky. And btw, the best glass for scotch is "glencairn". Am glad you didn't add coke or pepsi, I've seen ppl mixing good scotch with coke. Thats like raping a hot girl friend rather than making love.

@swades1947 Hehe, I would be interested to try it again now after I've had a few years of scotch/whiskey tasting experience. At the time I think this was my first scotch. Maybe I should buy another bottle!

Recommendations: add a little water to some to unlock flavors. Read up on the various regions of scotch whisky production. That will give you a better idea of what to expect. Try Glenmorangie, Glenfiddich 15, Balvenie, Glenfarclas, Highland Park, Talisker, Lagavulin, Caol Ila.

you definitely have a lot to learn about scotch, but you seem like a decent person so good luck in learning more about scotch. it is some truly great stuff. i recommend watching some of the vids of charles maclean and richard paterson. they really know what theyre talking about when it comes to scotch whisky.
