  • That's a lot of ethanol, hate to see that train derail. And I got idea for that pole, hook a chain around it and hook to that train as its going by, will solve that leaning pole. lol

  • Can't pipeline Ethanol, to volatile when its moving and creates alot of moisture.

  • @DouglasP201 The federal government would fine CN big time. A train of all one type of load (I.E. Ethanol) is allowed one "buffer" car. They can not couple the train straight to the motive power. Most other times, such as mixed freights, 3 or more cars are required. Montana RailLink does this same "one car buffer" on its "gas train". They use a box car, since its empty they fill it with items ment to fight fires or leaks from the train in case of a problem.

  • This my sound stupid, but what will happen if they didn't have the hopper car between the engine & tanker?

  • They are. :)

  • These Enthanol railcars look brand new.

  • Brand new cars by the look of them.

  • Ethanol cannot be transported through pipelines due to its corrosive nature.

  • That is called a Hopper car NOT A GONDOLA

  • strange horn!

  • You would think it would be cheaper to use a pipeline to deliver this stuff.
