I lived and worked in Oman for over a year and it has 100x more to offer then Saudi, Dubai and Abu Dhabi combined.

Only old buildings? You seem to be forgetting the wadi's, canyons, desert, diving, trekking, mountain climbing, 4wd'ing, etc.

"It is a fuckin Arab Oil rich Country that does nothing for its people." - The Omanie government has done more for it's people then any western government will ever do. Free land, free healthcare, cheap petrol...

..... Agree 100% with you. I worked in Oman Port from 1981 - 1988, during the time Oman was beginning to transform itself into a modern country, not just for the elite but as you very rightly put it, by uplifting the very lowliest of it's people. All credit to their leader HH Sultan Qaboos. Admittedly am biased towards Oman & Muscat in particular. My family to this day still reminisces about our days there. Oh! those were wonderful days. Wishing all Omanis for health & prosperity.

Unfortunately the cheap hotels have no websites. There are many in Oman especially in Seeb, Khod and Ruwi and some other areas.

I want to go to muscat but seems like the hotels are very expensive. Just went to jamaica for two weeks all inclusive at the riu palace. Anything like that available for muscat than please somebody let me know. I want to travel and see the wadis as well.

I lived there for 3 years (1984-86). It was even more natural & beautiful in those days! There wasn't too many modern buildings then.
