As somebody who is actually involved in this operation, I can tell you that those of you who are blasting Gmail are missing some points: This botnet was sending hundreds of millions of emails out every day, to everybody, and to every ISP out there; Yahoo, AOL, Verizon, Comcast, etc, etc. And they were sending them out 'as' different entities like the IRS, and the BBB, and banks, etc. This botnet basically still exists in the form of millions of infected computers. This was just the 1st step.

lol, Google mail IS bad, it sucks.... Why you think its free, and littered with adverts that all match the content of YOUR emails... I wouldnt install or use anything Google make for porsonal use at all..

I love all of this misinformation that's being spread by these corporations. They don't appear to have the slightest clue as to what's going on. I also find it amusing that they believe that all "cyber criminals" are part of sophisticated technological networks when anyone and their grandmother could setup a botnet.
