This is a no-death run of Powerblade for the NES set on expert difficulty split into 3 parts. To add to the challenge I didn't pick up any armor upgrades (Which greatly increases your strength, defense and maximizes your attack distance). No editing or tool methods are ever incorporated, actual gameplay. This is a really great game and terribly stereotyped as being too much like other platformers like CastleVania or MegaMan, but this game is original in it's own right as are the gameplay elements ie - 8 way directional attacking. Despite not being as well known as other games of this type, the game also has a terrific soundtrack that could be one of the best on the NES. The Japan version of this game is called "Power Blazer", it has the exact same music but your character looks completely different and cannot throw the boomerang in multiple directions. In my opinion, this is one of the rare occasions where North America got the superior game.

  • powerblade and shatterhand are the best megaman clone games.

  • I can't understand why some people think it's underrated. It sold well and I read mostly positive reviews. And yes, nice game.

  • this was one of my favorite games of all time. I loved to play it through but some bosses to me (I was a kid, okej!!!) were too difficult for me to beat. I never finished the game, but it was a good game. Strange that not so many people knew about this game.

  • Man, took some time to find this game... but memories... I remember playing this game back when i was a wee child, about 5 or 6 years old. Didn't understand anything in english, still got to the big center house ';) It was awesome. Man it feels good to find childhood games.

  • Arnold suffering from diarrhea

  • when i was younger i never had bionic commando or megaman, i had powerblade. awesome game. i recently picked up off ebay to play it again, cost me £1.50, bargain.

  • Do you think Power Blazer is harder than this?

  • In stage 3 it looks like he's avoiding flying killer waffles.

  • I bought this and Batman NES from some store. Now I kinda regret that I have sold both of them :/
