People who are fair-skinned and most vulnerable to skin cancer slather on high SPF sunscreen and hang out in the sun in summer or on holidays thinking they are protected, but they are not!

Sunscreen has been proven NOT to protect against skin cancer and may even contribute to it.

The EWG released this on July 02, 2009:

http://www.ewg.org/cosmetics/report/sunscreen09/press-release

It states:

... a new EWG investigation of 1,572 sunscreens and other sun-blocking products currently on the market found that 3 of 5 sunscreens either dont protect skin from sun damage or contain hazardous chemicals — or both.

So, regardless of the studies of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide nanoparticles, there are other ingredients of serious concern here with major adverse health implications which may contribute to the development of cancer.

EWG states :

The current weight of evidence suggests that these nanoparticles do not penetrate through the thickness of the outer stratum corneum and epidermis to the living tissue below. (Note suggests ),

Oral intake is a potential concern for nanoparticles in sunscreen when they wash off consumers and enter swimming pools or reservoirs...

and conclude:

We are concerned about the potential for nanoparticle inhalation with powder or spray forms of mineral sunscreens, particularly given marketing claims promoting their use on faces and on children's skin. EWG urges consumers to avoid mineral-based sunscreens sold in powder or spray forms, and for manufacturers of these products to avoid using nano-scale particles.

  • How about, not using the sunscreen and not using the hat, and instead just don't stay in the sun for TO long, whatever that may be, i personally are always outside in the summers, and stay in the sun the whole day, and that's just because I LOVE IT! = D, i wont go around being afraid of cancer just because its a POSSIBILITY of me getting it. =D <3 Namaste

  • I don't use sunscreen or a hat. But then again, I have skin that doesn't burn and I don't stay out long and besides, there's always chemtrails so what do you even need a UVB filter for nowadays?

  • can u make a vid about whats in aloe vera gels? ive always wondered if they make it so the sunscreen doesnt work so u have to buy aloe vera.

  • It's a moisturizer and it's also used to soothe burns. I woudln't worry about it.

  • try mineral sunscreens they don't enter the bloodstream and reflect uva and uvb rays and are pretty safe u can find them in health stores and online. I use these instead of chemical sunscreens because i don't want to get wrinkles or sun spots and i have super sensitive skin. The down side is that is can make up look pasty looking. Plus side they usually don't go above 30 spf. if you already knew this than never mind but maybe this could help others. Very interesting video by the way.

  • Will create the cure, we made the disease. Frustration Inc.

  • There is sun screen in canada? And that much to choose from?

  • you're really pretty, love your skin tone. Cute =)

  • Hypochondriac much?

  • GREAT video!! I don't use that stuff and never will. Sooo nice with a video, that can make people think. Think, wake up and think again. :-)))

    Linea FaeryLight.

  • I only need to use the low SPF's such as 4, 6 and 8 but since the minimum is now 15 I either have to go without and risk burning or slather on SPF 15 which will contain more toxic chemicals. I remember using SPF 2 which was just an oil with few toxic chemicals in it. This summer I found the answer by taking extra carotenoids which protected me from sun burn.

  • Coconut oil, best sunscreen I have used.

  • good report. sunscreen=very bad. all lies again. the illusions are falling. and all the greedy merchants will be exposed as they are: liars!

  • Oh yeah,...

Don't you know? The sun's more powerful these days ;)
