Poilievre's behaviour came under intense national scrutiny in February 2007. During a radio interview with CFRA on February 22, 2007, he asserted that the Liberal party was pandering to extremist members within its own ranks:
"Now we know that a lot of extremist groups and people with some very hard left-wing views have advocated for a long time that these provisions should be scrapped. Now a lot of those people supported Stéphane Dion in the leadership. A lot of them are in Stéphane Dion's caucus. And, for example, there are members of Stéphane Dion's Liberal caucus who want to legalize Hezbollah ..."

I would have to say Pierre Poilievre is the biggest douchebag in Parliament today. He is a caricature of modern partisan politics.

Pierre has towed the Tory line for 8 years now. He's handled all the PMs dirty files and has stayed on message - even when the message was unpopular - throughout. He's won his riding with some of the largest pluralities in Canada. So why is he not in cabinet? Precisely because of who he is: a guy who is willing to do and say whatever the PMO tells him. Pierre, if you showed more backbone and planted your flag in the ground once in a while, your boss might take you seriously.

Trumpeting the value of "hard-work" in the context of centuries of cultural genocide is SPECTACULARLY IGNORANT. It places the blame on the native peoples for their poverty and overrepresentation in the prison population. And how AMAZINGLY MYOPIC that Poilievre can spout off like that on the SAME DAY as the Canadian gov't formally apologizes for the horrors of residential schooling.
