I don't understand why people base their political arguments on religious beliefs. This country was founded because people were tired of being told what to believe and what not to believe. Our Founding Fathers came from a wide variety of religious backgrounds. You want to deny my right to marry based on your religious dogma. That's not morality; it's oppression. Since when do my civil rights hinder your spiritual growth? We're not trying to rape, pillage, or kill. We just want to marry.

It's funny that the fact that a sitting president spoke at the HRC dinner is overshadowed by the controversy about what he has or has not done.

With the Republicans mobilizing every bigot in every trailer park, to protest against him, the bigger picture is the 2010 elections, and maintaining control of the House & Senate.
