  • @mozzmann Oh I know! Thanks :]

  • @TheMrMarshmallow Yeah well a stretched chain certainly isn't going to be doing you any favours, good luck with your rebuild Sir.

  • @mozzmann I have been, and I've landed on a stretched timing chain and probably a new set of plugs. It was a farm truck so it all kinda makes sense. When I have the money to get the block machined i'll take more time to check things over inside.

  • @TheMrMarshmallow I'd be looking for and diagnoising the cause of the missing before I looked at anything else.

I have come across Cams that have a lobe ground down by the bottom of a lifter due to a blocked oil hole and the valve wasn't even opening ,

  • @mozzmann I get what you say completely , but I didn't get carried away with sound, my friend. My truck as of now has a bad miss every so often and just could really use a good wake up. I good mild cam would really open her up a bit, well I hope. It's just going to be nice to hear the thing run on all 8 like a pro again.

  • @TheMrMarshmallow Too many youngster's like yourself get carried away with how something sounds.

My advice is select your use first, ie for the street then, Torque is king along with a modicum of HP.

Drag you want a balance between Torque and HP and so on.

Look at your wants and needs and then use that as a basis to select parts to use and you should be on the right path.

  • When I worked in a performance workshop, there were only 2 Cams we ever recommended Comp being one of them and another also starting with C

  • I just bought a whole selection of parts for my truck. Switching it from TBI to Carb. First time tackling a project like this ever, being 16 and all. Anxious to hear how the Xtreme Energy cam will sound in that 318.
