This is my first bass cover ever filmed and posted.

** Now my first bass cover to reach 1,000 views **

The tuning it's played in is Drop C tuning (CGCF.)

The external bass line I'm playing was recorded through my Fostex MR-8 HD digital recorder seen on the desk behind me. The backing is there, but quieter so you can hear what I'm doing but it's not just silence and a bass line. I hate when people do that in their covers. The first verse can be (& should have been) done cleaner, but I was rushed, and didn't feel like re-recording it to change that one little bit. Not right now anyway. So I just uploaded it. Also, maybe I'm just a perfectionist--but at times the 'A string' sounds like it was slightly out of tune in parts. Maybe I'm wrong. The bass itself is not a great one, so sometimes it doesn't stay in tune very well. It is what it is.

  • can u send me le tabs :o

  • @Poketrainer715 - I don't have specific tabs. I learn/play by ear. Sorry.

  • awesome cover, and killer tone man.

  • @metalheadneji - Thanks.

  • Try to play without a pick u get better tones by playing with fingers

  • @canbuyu - I play with a pick sometimes, and my fingers other times. It all depends on the song I'm playing. I actually prefer playing with my fingers. Thanks for the tip.

  • yeeeeah!!!!! buen coveer de B4MV l..l

  • @TheBassDude1000 - As for your other question. I do not know at all if a Flea bass could hold the tuning. Flea basses (I assume, since I've never played one) are more funk geared and probably not made for heavier low tunings. Again, I am completely assuming. It could work. Maybe not. It's your choice. I just do with mine what I have to to make the cover sound as close to the version of the song I'm covering without thinking too much.

  • @TheBassDude1000 - How did I get a Squier into Drop C...

Honestly.... I don't think about that kind of stuff. I just do it. It's not a very scientific explanation, I know. But whatever tuning the song I want to learn to play is in, I tune it down-- so it sounds good. I hate people who cover songs and don't tune their instrument for the specific song. They just play the notes and it's noticibly way off key. It hurts my ears. I tuned all the way down to A for the Korn bass cover I did.
