It's a pity that we don't have any context for this funny clip with Lawrence Welk's cameo; I gather he sometimes brought his trumpet on set.

Wally Kinnan was with NBC for almost 20 years; both in Philadelphia, and then in Cleveland. I can understand, that when he was fired from Channel 3, it may have felt like a bowling ball being hurled into his face. But his colleagues at NBC appreciated him, and he has gone down in history as one of the best TV meteorologists in Cleveland.
