Probably the one that was liked by Mega Man fans the most - the first few classics that came out. Mega Man 2 is also widely regarded as the best classic Mega Man game. I suppose the introduction of the X series, while questioned by some classic Mega Man fans, was a good time as well. A lot of people born right before the SNES days grew up on the X series, as did I, so that's why Mega Man X-X3 could also be considered a short "golden age" in itself.
