Yes, things were different in the Bronze Age. Slavery was a commonly accepted thing as was genocide. Of course back then people would imagine a god who could condone it. Does that mean that there actually is an all powerful deity who DOES condone it or that Bronze Age ethics and morality should be followed in the 21st century? But if we need to weed out slavery, genocide, evil pork eating, disobediant child killing from our ethic why keep any of the Biblical morality at all?
