Nick. performing Som Bo Gin in the "advanced" division of the "forms" competition of the Wong Fei Hung tournament 2008. Nick took 1st place!

There was a tie for first place, therefore the competitors were instructed to perform another, different form to break the tie. Nick did Som Bo Gin.

  • Same sequences, with different tempo and pulsing like in dance. This school goes a little bit lower with the stance.

  • everyone does the form with their own spirit, so one sifu can show his students the same form, the same way, resulting in slightly different variations,

  • lam sang lineage, from nyc, kwong sai jook lum gee tong long pai

  • why is everybody's 3 step arrow different? Ug I'm just gonna have to learn them all.. trying to differentiate which one has the most internal development is next to impossible and makes my dan tien shrivel. Every jook lum sifu teaches and expresses it differently. And some have more then one version. So how many versions of jook lum sam bo gin are there?

  • what branch of south mantis is this? what lineage?

  • I like the control and Ging powers. xcellent.
