@dtader Thanks! And yes, it's very interesting to listen to how the 3 different tuning systems sound on the same piece of music... specially things like this where harmony plays such a major part.

@eantoranz It's a video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It's quite a humourous RPG with a modern setting. Anyway, cool video.

Pythagorean tuning has an almost gamelan like quality to it.

The comment about "Earthbound" is referring to a video game with that title. Its music is very loved by those who play it.
Also, I'm having trouble figuring out which sounds the most consonant to me. Maybe if I listen to brief segments and compare them, rather than the entire piece over and over, I will have more luck.

@Stevothehuman It's simply a basic sine wave playing the song. This was probably a MIDI file and basic waveforms (saw, square, sine, triangle) are standard with midi.

@Hykurison True story

pythagorean is the best tuning system.

@tmckamey1 thans for yourt kind comment. It's very welcome!

@eantoranz Yes, thanks for posting. This is a useful tool for explaining the different systems of tuning to people. You actually can hear what all that talk about ratios and 'cents' and intervals tries to explain. Makes it all much simpler.
After a while my ears get tired and I can't tell consonant from dissonant. :-) Anyway, consider the other pieces I have uploaded:
- Beethoven's Romanza Op 50
- Prelude from BWV 998
Hope you like them as well.

Why does this sound like it comes form Earthbound?

@Stevothehuman What is earthbound?

Parts of that were just disgusting

@elton1981 Yeah.... rates between frequencies can reach very odd values. Did you listen to the tempered and just intonation versions?
