Today, January 18 is blackout day in protest of SOPA, the Stop Online Piracy Act in the House, and the Protect IP Act in the Senate; hundreds of websites have blacked out their sites in protest. And the mainstream media, finally noticed! Welcome to the world that you've been ignoring for so long where opposition to these two anti-piracy laws has been growing for months.

SOPA/PIPA will be marked as a huge mistake by government and big business, not because these are bad or unpopular laws (they are but they don't care), but because of them the people are learning how to fight back against bad laws and political process, seeing left and right uniting against it and realising they can win.

SOPA/PIPA are also great examples of how dangerous the MSM monopoly is.

This not only wake these people up on the major threat that this is to our internet freedom, but it also make this very same people realize that they have been dumbed down to hell when it comes to the content they have been shoved down for months. Hopefully they will take part on the fight against SOPA / PIPA, and also move on to start watching shows like yours, channels like RT and other alternative media outlets that will actually give them real news! :P

Haha and the only reason why "they're waking up to them now" is because the MSM ran out of ways for ignoring the issue anymore, now people are asking themselves WTF is going on. I think Altona's wrong that the MSM hasn't noticed SOPA and PIPA. They've known very well, all along, that these bills were on the table. They just report on the stories they think faux President Barry Soetoro thinks they should. Understandable, given no one wants to end up red listed for a place in a FEMA concentration camp.

If SOPA or PIPA or the combination of the two is passed there is a way to get around that by using foreign internet service providers via satellite dish. The user will be using foreign servers that doesn't have the blacklist of website imposed on it, the data doesn't have to transmit through any servers within the US jurisdiction outside of your house. This is a sure way to send more jobs overseas.
