This is classic Brit comedy. So often overlooked. Probably because hairy kneed women who are perhaps not batting for the right team have a lot of power in media circles via the nanny state.
Check out Uncle Mort's North and South country, both radio series, with Stephen Thorne as Uncle Mort and Peter Skellern/Sam Kelly as Carter Brandon....superb.
Im in NZ and used to love this as im from the North of England.Kiwis dont get this sort of humour, they dont understand it.They are so far behind with humour here.I loved this humour. We dont get these anymore.Bloody PC humour now
What a find! Inevitably a lttle dated, but the dry and occasionally surreal humour is still an absolute joy. As a Yorkshireman, I love listening to the rhythms and speech patterns of the language.
Good news 'bernxxx', a certain online retailer has the box set of series 1-4 on offer at the moment.
Unbelievably,Robin Bailey (Uncle Mort)was initially thought unsuitable to play the character because of his middle class, home counties background. He certainly showed them.
