just a comment here on square knot, you don't have to start with left over right, as long as you do opposite the 2nd time, you can start right over left, then go left over right, great videos, keep em coming

Hey David, just wanted to ask you about that theives knot, if it is supposed to be used as a primary knot like the square knot. I am having problems tieing it, because everytime I go to tie it, it come loose like the first example you gave about the square coming loose. Thanks.

Great info on knots! Love the part with the squirrel! We have about 5 and one raccoon that come to the house and get treats. We do not do it all the time because we do not want them thinking we are a constant food source for them.
Once again great how to video, as always with you videos I learned something today hence it is a good day!

I'm getting the tag ends right, but the knot doesn't stay in place, and slids out of place.

Currahee...
It's not really meant to be a tie off as much as a "wilderness lock". It was generally used to tie off the top of a bag (of money?) to see if someone had gone into the bag.
