NuPastel Cravings

This video is my justification for going art supply shopping. Every now and then I find something I can't believe I lived without. At first, I wasn't too impressed with the Nupastels, but continued to work with them and found just what I was looking for. A new watercolor!! Check out the video below!

I'm learning how to not suck at art and picked up some Nupastels today on a while while I was at Guiry's. I didn't know you could use them as watercolors! I'm so excited! :3

I'm drooling over these pastels. Lovely! I'm really enjoying your channle. :)

I use my prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits with stumps or tortillions and get a great blend and gradient of color on a smoother paper. I think the watercolor paper is too absorbant for the mineral spirits to work thier magic with these pastels. I use Neenah Classic Crest in 80# or Cryogen White (which has a super shimmer to it) in 80#.

As a watercolor cake, they seem like a lot of fun & very rich. Thanks!
