@poppybea11 try richie haven's mixed bag album. that's the first time I hear his rendition. and it sounds almost the same as this rendition....except for his awesome fot tapping.

love this song to pieces shame you cant get this version on cd. i have 4 of his albums and they contain this song but not this fantastic acoustic version,,, and what a voice

Much, much better than the album version, which is still really amazing. The lyrics are amazingly moving.
Also, I need someone to explain to me what the heck he's doing with that guitar. I know it's open D tuning but I still can't figure out chords to save my life
