"Faith community turns out to process 42,000 cans of turkey for hunger relief in Haiti

There were plenty of helping hands in Goshen, Indiana.

Holding knives of all descriptions, 100 pairs of hands moved with purpose. They grabbed a turkey thigh, plopped it on a cutting board, then guided the knives through the cubing process. Then the pieces were scooped up and tossed into a plastic bucket.

In a nutshell, that's how 77,000 pounds of turkey thighs is being reduced to 42,000 cans of food this week in Goshen."

  • this is so wonderful, it warms my heart!

  • The Judgment of Nations in Matthew 25 when Jesus Christ separates the Sheep from the Goats. The road to Heaven is built on 'Loving God above all things & your neighbor as yourself.'

  • @homeshortly If our politicians served our countries' interests with hearts and hands as pure as those of these people--can you imagine how much better off we'd all be... It all has to start somewhere. Maybe whoever watches this video and is touched by it can volunteer in some way in their community. If enough people do it, the wider culture will change. It definitely will.

  • nice JOB......GOD BLESS YOU. BROTHERS AND SISTERS.

  • i purchase Amish foods and treats in my area.

i admire the way they stay busy and content.

the food vendors, young and old, mellow me out.

their stuff is kinda pricey, but i trust it. yum!

  • @BrightRiverSunset And that is what I love about the Anabaptist way. It preaches not with bombast and coercion, but with respectful examples of what it means to serve one another in Christ. How our broader civilization needs to learn from this.

  • @imre420 Perfectly said.

  • I'm not a minnonite, but praise God for what you do Brothers and sisters!! In Jesus Name

  • @vlindervvv Extremely well said. I have thought the same thing before when dealing with Mennonites at farm markets. It's as if their minds and souls are unencumbered by much of the competition and dirty backstabbing of this keeping up with the Joneses world we live in. Instead of competing--they cooperate.

  • I'm in Indiana...not amish or mennonite but would love to offer help...pm me!
