This is a very unique performance of famous Karevan. Extremely fast and very technical for Tar. This video has been recorded in 1997 in Tabriz. It was a fundraising event for earthquake victims of Ardebil. Behzad Ravaghi is performing on Tar and Behrouz Jamali is playing Tombak. I will Post more parts of this exceptional concert.

  • The name of this piece is Caravan and is composed by Ostad Morteza Mahjoubi not Ostad Saba.

Search کاروان in Iransong website. In that clip, this piece starts at 5:15.

    تصنیف «کاروان»

    آهنگ : «مرتضی محجوبی»

    شعر : «رهی معیری»

    تنظیم : «جواد معروفی»

    آواز دشتی

    Please correct the title.

  • the name of this piece is Karevan and it is one of the most famous pieces from Ostad Abolhasan Saba. It has been originally composed for Violin solo and it is in his 3ed book for violin (very long before any other person arranged or performed it). This piece has been perfomed as Be Yade Saba by Kamkars in a published work by them (same name) and also Mohammad Reza Lotfi and Naser Farhangfar in memory of Ostad Saba.

  • The Tasnif that you are referring to is composed by Ostad Mahjobi in memory of Ostad Saba and carries the same name as Ostad Sabas most famous piece and Ostad Mahjobi starts his memorandum by an arrangement of Sabas Karevan and if you pay attention to lyrics you will notice that it is completely written for Ostad Saba as it says Ba ghafeleye Bade saba rafti.

  • I have a recording of Ostad Saba himself playing this piece on Violin solo as part of Gholchin e Hafte program and that program is dedicated to Ostad Saba as well with a long explanation about the piece and Ostad himself. There is absolutely no question about authenticity of this piece and the composer. If you can get hold of Ketabe Sevvome Radif Saba it is the first piece on the book and the entire book comes with recordings performed by Mr. Shamlo Karband .
