Sad that Wilpon is more in love with the Dodgers history than his own teams. He had to have a replica of Ebbits Field to remind him of his childhood. True the new stadium is nicer than Shea but to me the Mets are not the same playing there. Shea was not the greatest park but it was home. It could have been renovated.

i can be heard saying good job guy @ 0:38

its a shame that citi field has 13,000 less seats then Shea did. Poor planning on the Wilpon's part to accomodate less of us....i never minded sitting in the upper deck at Shea. Now you'll be lucky if you get to see a half way decent game SRO at twice the price of an upper deck seat at Shea....Boooooo , very bad, maybe they'll add another deck ? :)

and its outta here!! lol

dont blame the Marlins you need to look at the mets for example the marlins payroll was 51 million vs 200 + for the yankees. There is a lesson that spending freely is not the answer especially in this economy, Anyway when i think of Shea I think beatles and grandfunk Rail road

It wouldn't have been so sad if the fucking marlins hadn't cockblocked the Mets from the playoffs the last 2 years on the final day in Shea.

whats wrong with the Marlins i live in maimi and we just had the orange Bowl brought down, The Marlins play in Dolphin Stadium The dolphins used to be in the orange bowl and the dolphin stadium is the most antiseptic place ever Long live the Orange Bowl

Wow, I'm shocked it went so quickly. Figured it was going to take a lot longer than 5 months to demo that old place.. Those ramps always seemed so massive when you'd be climbing them to get to the upper decks. They looked kind of puney in the end.. RIP Shea, had a lot of good times there..

I dont know why people were screaming "yeah!!" but whatever.. the demolition crew were all hugging and one guy even looked like he was going to cry. "40 yrs as a Mets fan" Thats what he said. I almost cried myself. Goodbye Ol' Girl, we will miss you!
