http://beautyapothecary.info I went to a salon to get my nail tips redone and during my 1 hour wait - to get a facial and treat myself to a facial polish to fade back some acne scars. So, instead of getting my cracked nail tips repaired I came out with my face burned off by a beauty therapist. All I had asked for was a microdermabrasion and during my wait thereafter for the appointed nail bar slot - I was asked to leave the salon. Now I know it was because as I waited, the mottled chemical burn was starting to reveal itself to other customers. I was completely unaware of my appearance until I got home, whereupon the shock of seeing my melted skin prompted me to go and see a plastic surgeon. Here I am less than 24hrs after having my face burned off by a beautician, with a list of remedial action to take to give me the best chance of healing without scarring.
Though that has yet to be discovered. I'll be posting my progress to document the recovery of my skin - if anything to reassure people who end up in a similar predicament of what the right thing to do is if something as crazy as this were to happen to you.

  • ? dear god.

  • This is normal; I'm curious how you look now.

  • Looks like she gave her way too deep of a peel without even prepping the skin for a couple of weeks first--you should always prep the skin for a couple of weeks with a retin A cream nightly it would help the skin to absorb the peel evenly and should always start with a 10% or lower for the first time and work you way up if you desire deeper. Not all estheticians are that incompetent. I hope she sued her.

  • Why do people mess with nature unless absolutely necessary? Be happy with yourself as you are-- Drinking lots of water and a healthy diet will many times help/solve skin problems-- you are probably MORE unhappy now than before i do hope you solve your problems and think before getting any other possibly unnecessary procedures

  • Oh no! I would like to have a chemical peel for the 1st time. Now, I am afraid to have one after watching your video. I do hope you're okay now...

  • do what americans do best, sue!!!!!!!!!

  • You're both young and beautiful so why would you be so vain and almost ruin yourself?

  • so you did both microdermabrasion and Glycolic peel?

  • I hope you got payment from those morons who did such horrible things to you. I'm so happy you are taking it well, dear.

  • wow, you're extremely levelheaded about this. i can't believe it didn't hurt! i'm assuming it healed up nicely, as it really didn't look THAT bad (i mean, don't get me wrong, the beautician seriously injured you, but the burns didn't look to be 3rd degree...were they?). jeez, for the first glycolic peel, you're supposed to leave it on for like 1-2 minutes, not AN HOUR. wtf, i really hope they don't hurt anyone else with their incompetence.
