  • I'm reminded of "The Battle of New Orleans" listening to this for some reason. And it's not just because both are about Brits getting their tails kicked. The chorus especially is very similar in rhythm...

  • bannockburn has nothin 2 do with brits its english gettin slaughtered ther was no brits then.

  • Thank you so much. Nifty little song.

  • nae probs glad ye appreciate it...no heard the word nifty in a while!

  • @Thrashslashedmashedp Not American. Not everyone who doesn't bother with the minute details of foreign places' ancient history is American. Also, it's been TWO SODDING YEARS since I made the mistake, apologized for it, and people still love to harp on about it regardless.

    Funny old internet, isn't it?

  • @XanderMorhaime ...Ironic, seeing as it was Scotland vs England back then aha. Americans with history, I love it.

  • @XanderMorhaime "The Battle of New Orleans" is based from this tune, like load of American tunes that have been based on old Scottish and Irish songs

  • Great song! :D

  • @XanderMorhaime that's because the americans took the tune and changed the words to it--a lot of the americans at this time had roots from england and scotland

  • @XanderMorhaime You realize this song uses the same melody and meter… in fact, this is a parody of the Battle of New Orleans. Good ear

  • @daddyofisabel

and those britons were celts, not the english

  • @rosswatt1979 Well there were Britons, but no British, that's true.

  • @juv7 Not my version of history..........I just posted the words to the song after someone was after them pal. ALBA GU BRA

  • @stuart14TA stuart read your history son the stone was in the english hands they stole it in 1296 and the agreed to return it after the treaty of northampton in 1328 back to scotland we never had the stone in 1314 ALBA GU BRA
