Human nature never changes. I have worked in software projects that have gone like this bunker; lead by an egotistic executive or manager, a dozen brainwashed corporate tools to suck up to him, all believing in "final victory" ignoring that none had experience in that field, the project was way larger than anything the company had ever done. And sure enough, the project was a complete disaster.
Like Einstein said, the only thing infinite in the universe is human stupidity - and human ego.
