  • Ubuntu on SSD is little faster. BTW - i like that power GNU!

  • @hivonzooo,

Thanks, that power GNU was holded by Stallman :) he did a sort of auction and our LUG buy it :D

  • It's always hard (impossible?) to go under 20sec.

Very impressive for a cold boot!

  • mine is much faster due to btrfs root (defaults, noatime, ssd, compress=lzo).

Btrfs is considered unstable, so do that on your own risk. I have a backup hdd at home. And never do that to your /boot - GRUB will go on strike. You need a separate /boot partition

  • @anakin1337 it's a custom kernel (like kernel-netbook in AUR) with /drivers/video/logo source images replaced.

  • why when my arch boots up it doesnt have those arch triangles above the text ?

  • That is way fast for that little netbook, awesome! Also, we have the same wallpaper!

  • @@@ for speed :)

  • like the "atomic clock" there, nice job :)

  • @hivonzooo it may be a little faster, or so you claim. but it's still just ubuntu. enjoy your locked down hand holding :)

  • Use Awesome instead of that GNOME(?) and you'll speed it up even more. ;)
