On October 18, 2010, Jim Campbell, President and CEO of GE Appliances & Lighting, announced that GE will be investing $432 million dollars and adding 500 jobs to creating U.S. Centers of Excellence for refrigeration products. Jim, I am excited to outfit my kitchen with all GE appliances. The lone problem I have is the microwave in the GE Café line. The reviews I have read, including those posted on GE Appliance’s own website, ubiquitously state that this microwave is junk. As I am sure you know, the control panels are prone to premature failure. What was the problem and what has GE done to address this problem? If I purchase a new microwave today, am I going to be stuck with a defective microwave in a few years?

I'm sorry, Jim... But as far as I'm concerned, GE appliances ARE THE WORST! My new-in-2007 home, was fitted witn GE applinces. Except for the range, they have all experienced some degree of repair, or failure. From my pathetic Nautilus dish washer, with the lame center "swizzle stick" sprayer, to my SBS water/ice dspnsr. fridge, that is a dellicate hot-house orchid, when it comes to maintaining it's functions in working order. I will say this; GE's warranty and customer service is gr8
