Miss Price does not sound crazy, are you kidding. She was Cum Laude.  Also how many 81 year olds could speak in such a coherent way off the cuff about her long and glorious career. Too many memories to recount, I am sure.

What a pleasure to have this and what pearls of wisdom she is laying on young people.

Of course she is not crazy and only a crazy would think she was crazy. However, her ideas about race and "complaining" are b at best troubling.

@tenortobe Absolutely. I was in broadcasting in New Zealand during the mid to late 1960s. At that time, believe me, there was Leontyne Price and no one else. Callas was mentioned mainly as a celebrity, more noted for her non opera stuff. Victoria de Los Angeles and John Sutherland were also well known, but never in the same league as Leontyne at that time. Other musicians at the time were Gyorgy Cziffra, Paul Badura-Skoda and Henryk Szeryng. You don't hear of them now. Leontyne is still famous.

A lady... through and through. Such class. Class class class. As a singer and as a person... 81... she looks maybe 50 here. And her interpretation of that role (Aida) is so profound and, i believe, singular. Untouchable. One of the only roles that I believe Callas was beat. Perfection. Human and real.

Awesome and phenomenal epitome of where singers can go with their vocal talent....and to be still filled with grace as an 81-year-old, that is totally INCREDIBLE!
