@guitarplayerforu there was a hollywood hotel and something like this did happen however not as drastic the top got struck with lightning and the hotel lost power for a couple of days and the electrical wiring could never be fixed like it originally was so they closed the hotel & the tv show Twilight Zone made it into this big thing that got everyone scared and then eventually Disney made this ride and it is one of the top 5 rides ridden each year in the United States with WDW and Disneyland

i remember watching this commercial in the special features of The Incredibles (before i rode the ride) and i told myself "I AM NEVER GOING ON THAT RIDE!!" That was when i was like 8. I've rode it now and its AWESOME! the commercial is EPIC btw xD
