    About the marching.... these were actual soldiers in 1954. I imagine they were told to be "sloppy" for the script, before Miller took over with St. Louis Blues March, which caused them to straighten up. Also, they goofed by allowing Blacks in the ranks.... the US Army was not integrated until after the war, 1947.
