WMU and MSU also have 30,000+ students to draw on, Notre Dame only has about 8,500 students, and a hockey program that has never been nationally prominent like MSU usually is. You can't expect too much. Plus ND was blowing out Miami by this point in the game, so the goal didn't matter as much.
