If you are using a current digital camera that has a hefty megapixel range, you'll need a fast media card to get the shot.
What does that really mean?
This presentation from Lexar gave the simplest most direct demo of that.

  • Gona try it in my Sony A850

  • You misspelled "for" in the credits. Please send one card as a thank you for pointing this out. ;p

Enjoyed your info on TWIP podcast.

  • Unless you shoot like that (which 90% of the users don't) you don't need that much speed. For HD video and for normal use of the camera you won't need more than 20MB/sec=133x.

  • @barlevi1 As much as half a camera and if you're going to shoot like that get a bucket of cards with you ...just in case :)

  • @barlevi1 Alot =D

  • @borisyankov cuz they need low budget products

you know how much the 600X and 300X card cost???

  • Thats awesome! It does make a difference :) Nice video!

  • How does it relate to HD video recording in the 7D?

  • The first card is 80x.

I dunno why would Lexar sell such slow cards yet? May be just for comparison how fast are the new cards? :)
