  • helvetica is the best documentary ever.

  • i like how he talks about people's work being "cheesy" and "expected" - and now in this day and age, a decade after Carson's popularity began, his work is sooooo overplayed, overdone, and dated. Every god damned cheesy rock t-shirt has his style of swooshes and grunge aesthetic. I understand why Carson's an important figure in design history, but man do I HATE his style.

  • I hate david carson "style" ugh

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. He said something extremly important:

"I have no formal training in the fild. In my case, I never learned all the things I wasn't supposed to do. I might just did what it made sense to me" This is truth to become an authentic designer. For God's sake, people go to art classes and they are being made just like everyone else. Follow your heart and your instint. Remeber, you have a living God within you!

  • he looks like John Terry who plays Jack's dad in Lost. He sounds like him too. Separated at birth.

  • @speier although a lot of his work looks dated now, imagine how fresh it was at the time , also how did no one else think of messing with type like that before him ?

  • The dingbats idea is fantastic - I wish I'd thought of it!

  • lol!

  • He prowls facebook for random girls to hook up with. Loser.
