His body was exhumed and can be viewed. Stigmatism is a very real phenomenon. The saints are associated with many visions and prophecies and the wounds of Christ are just one of many miracles.

@trippletsense many before him, i think the first was saint francis of assisi, but can be that others before him got the stigmata.

he was destined to be a saint from 5 yrs old hes a amazing saint in my opinion and long may he rein god bless pedre pio I watched the film about him a few months ago here in the uk with english subs and I cried well before the end because pedre had many enemy's but though prayer he stayed strong and told the truth constantly of what hes seen and looked after many in the hospital he built a amazing saint godbless u pedre pio

If you read up on him, then you will see why. He died in 1968, so his life is well documented, including photographs. thanks!

A good man who always pointed everyone to Jesus Christ. Every once in a while the Lord sends either a prophet or a person blessed like Padre Pio to show the world there is more to life then money, riches and fame. We were created to worship God and fellowship with Him. Thank you for this video.
