if you fall, you are already in an upright position but it can still be ugly. you need a helmet for sure. now in other videos, they claim this will be better for your knees, etc. i dont believe that. you are not sitting, your knees are supporting all the weight. the best test would be to do the same distance with a regular bike and this one and see. you will probably abandon quicker with the strider. it is very difficult to beat the normal bike in terms of efficiency.
