okay. they peddled crap calling it gold. but it was fannie mae and freddie mac, whose very names indicate that these two companies were marketing to black american minorities, that created the toxic assets mortgages in the first place. They disobeyed every law of common sense and sound business.

@Squeegee73 Post a video that has this title and I guarantee that you will receive more hits in ONE HOUR than this video has received in one year; "Britney Spears Nipple Accident".
I agree with you 100% and it not only frustrates me, it saddens me that our populace has been Dumbed down so far that they have no idea who Goldman Sachs is or what is happening to their way of life and how badly they are being screwed every minute of every day by corporations and their own government.

Matt Taibbi, you are my hero! Thanks for exposing the machinations of the global banking mafia aided and abetted by our politicians.

Merely a bit of meat to forestall any more criticisms while
the crooks go on as usual. Throw the starving a tiny promise
and we get right back to scrounging for the daily vitals and
stop questioning. Only the rich have spare time to ask questions
and those are only how they may create more self benefits
from the labor of the thralls. u n me.

@flyhead2 The real illusion that people hold is the illusion that economic power and political power can remain independent. They never have. The differences are only a matter of degree to which these two collude. But you always end up with the same thing whatever name you want to give it: Fascism, Communism, State Capitalism, Corporate Fascism, Crony capitalism,........
-
@flyhead2 Free market capitalism is only an illusion because of the prescence of government. It's the laws and regulations passed by government that favour the growth of monopolies and cartels. It still remains to be seen whether a free market could exist and power structures would necessarily flourish because there have always been governments.

@Squeegee73 That fills me with hope. That simple human pleasures and joys are still more valuable to people than the pleasure of material gain and the love of power and control.

This is an excellent documentary piece.
I watched a You Tube video today about a couple dancing at their wedding that had over 8 million hits.
Here we have evidence they we're all being f*cked up the ass by a criminal oligarchy yet just over 11,000 people worldwide have bothered to tune in.
That's what makes me despair.

I'm not sure about never, but it's been a steady march to fascism since the federal reserve act of 1913. For a long time our success was a by-product of the enrichment of the fascists, but with globalization came greener, more exploitable pastures for the banking cartel. Once they got their global "free trade" agenda enacted, they didn't need us anymore. Honest economy was discarded when looting became more profitable.
