This actually is the kind of story that distinguishes The Bionic Woman from many other shows.... so human, compassionate and caring.... the dog Max is such a kind dog who can rescue little girls and be Jaime's loyal pet, and so cuddly too...

Max was originally going to be on the Six Million Dollar Man but Lee Majors didn't want a dog on the show. I had always been curious as to how bionics had been perfected before Steve had his accident. Turns out Max had been the "guinea pig" which Rudy Wells had used to test his technology.

The reason that poor Max is so unhappy and scared?
Is because..when he was a puppy.He was in a cage..in a lab that was on fire.And it left him with a traumatized fear of fire.
