  • I didn't know gas cars had EGRs. Thats exhaust gas recirculation, right?

  • @chocolatebunny333 Not all but most do have an EGR system. Yes, it stands for Exhaust Gas Recirculation.

  • almost every gm i ever owned had that same carbon build up problem.. what causes that?? and how can it be prevented?

  • @lawnside82 It is because of the huge difference in temperatures between the exhaust gases and engine. The sudden cooling of the exhaust gases causes the carbon accumulation (blockage). Keeping the engine tuned properly will help but there is really no complete prevention. A rich running engine will accelerate the problem.

  • @markjhicks no i have a 95 Chevy Beretta , a number of 95 chevy cars had a obd 1.5 not a 1 or a II so you basically cant read codes, i had a caked up egr and a engine light from using seafoam , that washed all the crap from my top end and coated my oxygen sensor , ; [ cleaned the egr and replaced the o2 . the o2 i think is what made the lighjt go on during idle and stumble if at a constant speed .

  • @PatriotRadioMilitia Thank you for the post. Was it storing a code P0401? Did cleaning the ports take care of the problem?

  • 95 beretta 3100, engine light came on only when sitting at long idle, would often stumble at 45mph and also keep it from going into high end speeds, encase anyone has simular symptoms . thanks for the post.

  • @rikwxyz1 The videos you see we do are real world failures. Unfortunately we can control which vehicle comes in next.
