For Jazz = "flat" wound electric
For Rockabilly = "round" wound electric strings

Damn it sucks you weren't born back in the 30's so you'd be all ready for the 50's.

You have to have an echo pedal. with a very fast slap back. get the danelectro fab echo... It is really cheap and will make this sound...

Hi, I dont know if this guitar would be good for your type of music but I do have an epiphone es-335, they sound good (maybe like oasis). I'm a rockabilly man, try the epi ;)

Hey I'm going to get a Gretsch G5120 to play rockabilly, stuff like Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, and Eddie Cochran etc, and I was wondering if I should get TV Jones FilterTrons Classics pick-ups? Because right now I'm just a bassist but I've been doing my research can you help?

Hi, this guitar is great for rockabilly as standard but once the tv classics where strapped on, it was even better more greasier (like mr setzer). hope this helps, if u have any other questions just ask me. jim

I have one of these but I can't get that sound out of it. What are the setting / equipment you are using.

Hi, this guitar is great for rockabilly. I use a Vox AD15Vt Amp via a Boss DD3 Delay Pedal. I set the amp so I have a slight bit of gain and no bass with full treble. On my other vids featuring this guitar I have changed the pickups to TVJONES Classics. A very good mod if you want the Setzer Sound. Jim
