  • Lee Morgan-flugelhorn, Billy Harper-flute, Harold Mabern-piano, Jymie Merritt-Ampeg bass, Freddie Waits-drums

  • This is too cool - two of my all-time fav jazz artists.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Stradman37, why do you make comment that Lee Morgan tried to live life much too short and painful? Cursed? Please expound.

  • I love to hear Lee Morgan's trpting - he was fabulously talented, yet cursed by his own demons to live a life much too short & painful.

These recordings are a real treasure to hear on Y/T. Thanks so much for posting!

  • i'm so glad to hear this tune,i remember the liner notes, from the LP i remember bertt, a little boy that harold mabern, knew that got kill in the streets one day,by a car.

  • FYI Kokoyams: This is from Ellis Haizlip's TV show "Soul"---which was taped on January 28, 1972, three weeks before Lee was killed. Horace's band performed before Lee's group.
