No. It is the primary muscle used. The lungs are organs not muscles

So in a situation I would like to know how to help someone if they get hit in the solar plexus. I know that the Diaphragm tenses up and doesn't let the lungs expand causing them a hard time getting air. Is there any immediate "Thing" you can do to relax the diaphragm so that the person can get air?

As the "primary muscle of respiration", does that mean that the lungs couldn't function without the diaphragm?

The acutely distended stomach may push the diaphragm upward causing collapse of the lower lobe of the lung. X-ray may show an elevated diaphragm and pleural fluid in the the thorax.
