What do you think about when staring down the barrel of a gun. Family? Death? God? Or is it the voice on the other end of the phone...?

Based on a short story by Michael Laimo.

  • Technically, I think this is your best work yet. The way you shot it looks very professional.

I don't really understand Madeline. She goes through a lot of mood shifts in a short period which make her difficult for me to relate to.

Some of the dialogue felt forced, especially coming from the boss. Also, there was the one point when Madeline said she'd be there in ten, but no location was given. Pet peeve.

And just out of curiosity, why did you end up not using the gunshot at the beginning?

  • I cut the gunshot at the beginning because everyone I showed it to thought it was too much. I was deciding between a few ways to show that part (putting it over the phone or various cs's), but I got the best response from the original.

  • great short

  • I know this is just a sample, but it's confusing, it seems there are parts missing, no location of the client, & both guys from the office instead of just one at the end, for example. The last part of Madeline's actions after she meets the client don't make any sense ..

guess I need to read the book huh? :) lol

The quality of the film is good, considering it's dark through most of it. You can see the expressions & the focus is on the characters.

so far.. Good job overall! :)

  • Great job dude. Love that dolly!
