Everyone has a right to affordable health care. On this, we all agree. But, after months of committee hearings, backdoor meetings and debate, debate, debate, the long-awaited Senate vote is fast approaching and as poll numbers show, many of us are still asking, will health reform end up costing us more?"

In fact, according to a Washington Post poll out last Wednesday, few Americans actually believe that government action is needed to control health-care costs and expand coverage to those without insurance. More than half of those polled, 53 percent, see higher costs for themselves as a result of health reform measures, than if the current system remains intact.

And they are right. The Senate bill contains many provisions that could indeed cause sticker shock for most of us.
