Not saying either Bodie or Poot are blameless but I think Poot told Bodie to shoot him cause he couldn't stand to see Wallace so frightened then he shot him again so he wouldn't slowly bleed to death. Everything he did was make sure Wallace had a quick death.

I came home from work every day for three straight months doing nothing but watching the wire. faf-fucking-tastic television! after I finished it I started watching dexter and breaking bad. and to think just a couple years before I was one of those people who watched jersy shore and actually enjoyed it... yeah big mistake when I look back at it lol. but out of all 5 seasons this was the one moment I always remember the wire for. especially when Ive seen friends of mine go down this road
